I went to my doctor's office today for a procedure by one of the specialists. I had a 9am appt. Got there on time. Didn't get called until 9:20. I didn't onto the operating table until 10:05. When I asked one of the nurses what caused the delay, she tells me that the doc didn't arrive until after 8am (he was supposed to be there at 7, like her). So of course everything gets pushed back. My procedure was done and I recovered from the anesthesia & was out the door by 10:40. But on the front of the reception desk is a new sign, the gist of which said that if you cancel an appt less than 24 hours from your appt time you owe them $25. Gee, what about the times when they are late? Shouldn't they be paying us (or at least not charging me my $25 specialist co-pay?). Talk about nerve!
