    Atheism - A religion?

Why do you believe that G-D exists or doesn't exist?

The title seems to beg a nihlist response over whether atheism is a religion.  Is the belief of nothing the same as no belief?

Athiesm is fo sho a religion.  Hardcore Athiests creep me out just as much as those hardcore religious people.  All seem to think they know for a fact their position and systematically cram it down others throats and look down on those who don't "know" the same thruths.  If you really believe something that hardcore with no proof, ur a creepshow.  The end.

The problem with Atheism as much as anything is that it is impossible to prove a negative.

It's impossibe to prove to any significant degree whether God or some higher power/force exists. Religion is a personal choice, a conscious decision to put your faith in something other than your own self and the tangible. For some, believing in something more is empowering, for others not believing is empowering. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what you believe...it matters what type of person you choose to be. And I think whatever helps you to be the "right" kind of person by your own standards, is a great thing. As long as you're not hurting anyone else, of course.

Atheism isn't a religion it's believing in non-belief. Being agnostic is more of religion, at least if you prove there's a G-d you might beleive it.
