I was looking for the website of the new Cisco, oops, sorry Sports Museum of America (I think that's its official title). So I do a search and guess what comes up. Who knew, except of course the Boston fans, there is a museum in the TD Banknorth Garden that has served Boston and New England for the past 30 years. But it's not called just The Sports Museum. It's called The Sports Museum presented by New Balance. I guess I'll have to change my sneakers now. I didn't know they were a presenting sponsor of stuff. So, now I have to find a new brand of sneaker. And of course, no dealing with TD; that should go without saying.
Now for the Cisco place: It's actually called Sports Museum of America. The good folks at Cisco (you know them, they have that cool technology you've seen on CSI: New York) are the founding sponsor. Gee, thanks. Now we know why your products are so expensive. Like all 'sponsors' who decide to hook up (pun intended) with the seller, they get to plaster their name all over the joint. Why doesn't the museum just buy the stuff like the rest of us? And for all the ads we have to put up with at the museum, it shouldn't be costing us $27 per person. Hey, when I'm a senior (60+), it will only cost me $24. Of course, that assumes that the prices don't go up in the intervening years. Yeah, right.
